Bachelor in Architecture

In the academic year 2019-2020, the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology began conducting 1st degree studies in Architecture in English

– Bachelor in Architecture.

The study program has the same scope as studies conducted in Polish and is implemented in a modular system. The first students completed the winter semester exchanging thoughts and ideas coming from different countries and cultures. During the Introduction to Architectural and Urban Design classes they had a number of meetings with visiting professors, made designs, models, presentations and showed their work at the exhibition. Students began the first semester with work on an architectural form that brings together the learned elements of spatial composition. The authors themselves gave the form a function that was within the scope of usability of the urban furniture – benches, skatepark elements, bus stops etc. This exercise allows you to gently introduce new students to both issues related to the construction of architectural form and professional vocabulary related to the profession. Staying in the context of urban space as another exercise, students analyzed Rynek Krowoderski – a Krakow square located not far from the university – in terms of connections with the city and urban problems. Then everyone responded to the issues with the square development project. Each exercise ends with an individual, oral presentation that teaches how to create a synthesis from proposed ideas and how to build a professional statement related to design. The Bachelor in Architecture course is work in a small group with the assistance of several lecturers, which means that the student develops quickly and uses his strengths in subsequent design exercises.

W roku akademickim 2019-2020 Wydział Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej rozpoczął studia I stopnia z Architektury w języku angielskim – Bachelor in Architecture.

Pierwsi studenci ukończyli semestr zimowy, wymieniając myśli i pomysły pochodzące z różnych krajów i kultur. Podczas zajęć z Architectural and Urban Design odbyli szereg spotkań z profesorami wizytującymi, wykonali projekty, modele, prezentacje i pokazali swoje prace na wystawie. Ćwiczenie to pozwala łagodnie wprowadzić nowych studentów zarówno w zagadnienia związane z budową formy architektonicznej, jak i w profesjonalne słownictwo związane z zawodem.
